Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 24, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TrustMilestone.

By creating an account or using TrustMilestone, you agree to these Terms.

1. About TrustMilestone

TrustMilestone helps businesses turn data from connected third-party services into verified proof that can be published, shared, or embedded.

Depending on the features available, TrustMilestone may allow you to:

  • Connect third-party data sources such as payment or business platforms
  • Create verified milestone snapshots
  • Display live or periodically updated proof
  • Publish and embed proof on websites or other platforms
  • Add context to verified metrics
  • Collect or display customer proof and testimonials

TrustMilestone is intended for business and professional use.

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and have the authority to connect any account or business data you use with TrustMilestone.

2. What “Verified” Means

TrustMilestone uses data obtained from connected third-party sources to generate verification signals.

When TrustMilestone identifies data or proof as “Verified,” it means that TrustMilestone obtained or calculated the relevant signal using data available through a connected source at the time of verification.

“Verified” does not mean that:

  • TrustMilestone has audited the business
  • The business itself is certified or endorsed by TrustMilestone
  • The metric has been independently audited according to accounting standards
  • The underlying third-party data is guaranteed to be complete or error-free
  • TrustMilestone guarantees the financial condition, quality, reliability, or trustworthiness of the business
  • The information should be relied upon without appropriate independent verification

TrustMilestone provides technical verification signals. We are not an auditor, accounting firm, rating agency, certification body, investment adviser, or financial adviser.

3. Connected Data Sources

TrustMilestone may allow you to connect third-party services, such as payment providers and other business platforms.

By connecting a service, you:

  • Authorize TrustMilestone to access the data necessary to provide the relevant features
  • Confirm that you have the authority to connect that account and allow TrustMilestone to process the relevant data
  • Agree to comply with the terms applicable to the connected service

TrustMilestone aims to access only the data reasonably necessary to provide its features.

Available integrations and the data required for them may change as TrustMilestone evolves.

Third-party services operate independently from TrustMilestone. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, outages, API changes, or other actions outside our control.

4. Snapshot Proof

Some TrustMilestone proof represents a metric or event verified at a particular point in time.

A snapshot reflects the data available when the verification was performed.

A historical verified snapshot may remain valid as evidence that a milestone was reached at that time even if:

  • The metric later changes
  • The business subsequently grows or declines
  • The connected data source is later disconnected

A snapshot should therefore not be interpreted as representing the current performance of a business unless explicitly indicated otherwise.

TrustMilestone may display the verification date or other information necessary to communicate the historical nature of the proof.

5. Live Proof

Some TrustMilestone features may display proof that is periodically refreshed from a connected data source.

“Live” does not necessarily mean real-time.

Updates may be delayed because of processing intervals, caching, third-party API availability, technical issues, or other factors.

Live proof generally requires an active and functioning connection to the relevant data source.

If that connection becomes unavailable, TrustMilestone may:

  • Stop refreshing the proof
  • Change its verification status
  • Display information indicating that the connection is no longer active
  • Disable or remove the live proof

We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted updates.

6. Calculated and Derived Metrics

Some metrics displayed by TrustMilestone may be calculated or derived from data provided by connected services rather than directly supplied as a single metric by those services.

TrustMilestone may, for example, aggregate or process underlying data to generate business metrics, growth indicators, milestones, or other verification signals.

Calculated metrics depend on TrustMilestone’s methodology and the completeness and accuracy of the underlying data.

Different platforms, accounting systems, or analytics tools may use different definitions or calculation methods and may therefore produce different results.

TrustMilestone may improve or modify its calculation methodologies over time.

7. Disconnected Data Sources

You may disconnect connected third-party services where the relevant integration allows it.

Disconnecting a data source does not necessarily invalidate proof that was correctly verified before disconnection.

However, disconnection may prevent TrustMilestone from updating or continuing to verify live information.

TrustMilestone may indicate publicly that a connection is no longer active where this information is relevant to understanding the status or freshness of a verification.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you provide to TrustMilestone, including descriptions, explanations, testimonials you are authorized to provide, and other materials you submit.

You grant TrustMilestone a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, display, and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Operate TrustMilestone
  • Generate and display your proof
  • Provide sharing and embedding features
  • Maintain and improve the Service

When you choose to publish content or proof, you understand that it may become publicly accessible and may be viewed, shared, indexed, or referenced by others.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you publish does not disclose confidential information or violate the rights of others.

9. Public Proof and Anonymous Mode

TrustMilestone may allow you to publish proof publicly through pages, cards, embeds, images, or other formats.

Certain features may also allow you to hide your startup or business name from public display.

Using such a feature makes the identity hidden from the public only to the extent described by the feature. It does not make your TrustMilestone account or connected data anonymous to TrustMilestone.

You remain responsible for ensuring that your use of public or anonymous proof is lawful and not misleading.

10. Testimonials and Customer Proof

TrustMilestone may allow customer testimonials, ratings, reviews, or other forms of customer proof to be displayed.

Where you provide or import such content, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to use and publish it.

Certain TrustMilestone features may verify that a testimonial, rating, or review was submitted by a person associated with a customer relationship identified through a connected data source.

Such verification may confirm the existence of a relevant customer relationship or other specified signal. It does not mean that TrustMilestone:

  • Verifies the truth of the customer’s opinion
  • Endorses the opinion
  • Guarantees that the opinion is representative of all customers
  • Certifies the quality of the business or its products

Customer opinions remain their own.

TrustMilestone may display information explaining what has and has not been verified.

11. Using TrustMilestone Proof

TrustMilestone may provide cards, badges, embeds, widgets, images, verification indicators, or other materials designed to help you display verified proof.

Subject to these Terms, TrustMilestone grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use these materials for their intended purpose.

You must not:

  • Alter a verified metric or verification result
  • Falsify or reproduce a verification indicator for unverified data
  • Remove or obscure information where doing so materially changes the meaning of the proof
  • Present historical snapshot proof as live proof
  • Modify TrustMilestone materials in a way that creates a misleading impression
  • Suggest that TrustMilestone endorses, certifies, or guarantees your business
  • Use TrustMilestone branding or verification indicators independently to create fake or unauthorized proof

TrustMilestone may disable proof or restrict access where necessary to protect the integrity of its verification system.

12. Honest Representation and Acceptable Use

TrustMilestone is built around credible and transparent proof.

You agree not to use TrustMilestone to deceive or materially mislead customers, investors, partners, users, or other third parties.

You must not:

  • Misrepresent verified data
  • Manipulate verification signals
  • Create fake or misleading proof
  • Attempt to circumvent TrustMilestone’s verification mechanisms
  • Use another person’s or business’s connected account without authorization
  • Use TrustMilestone for scams, phishing, fraud, or other unlawful activity
  • Publish illegal, harmful, infringing, or malicious content
  • Attempt to interfere with the security or operation of TrustMilestone
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to TrustMilestone systems or other users’ accounts
  • Use automated methods to abuse, overload, scrape, or disrupt the Service except where expressly permitted

We may remove content, disable proof, restrict features, or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, or the integrity and security of TrustMilestone.

13. Intellectual Property

TrustMilestone and its software, technology, design, branding, verification systems, and other proprietary materials are owned by TrustMilestone or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except for the limited rights expressly granted under these Terms, using TrustMilestone does not give you ownership of any TrustMilestone intellectual property.

You retain ownership of your own content and data.

14. Third-Party Services

TrustMilestone relies on third-party infrastructure, APIs, platforms, and service providers.

Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and policies.

TrustMilestone does not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their continued availability, functionality, or compatibility.

Changes made by a third-party provider may temporarily or permanently affect TrustMilestone features that depend on that provider.

15. Changes to TrustMilestone

TrustMilestone is an evolving service.

We may add, modify, improve, limit, or discontinue features as the product develops.

We may also update verification methods or supported integrations to improve accuracy, security, reliability, or product functionality.

Where a material change significantly affects your use of the Service, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.

16. Accounts, Suspension and Termination

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity performed through it.

You may stop using TrustMilestone and delete your account subject to the functionality available within the Service.

Deleting or terminating an account may cause public pages, live proof, embeds, widgets, or other TrustMilestone features associated with that account to stop functioning.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

  • A serious or repeated violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or misleading activity
  • Attempts to manipulate verification
  • Security risks
  • Unlawful use
  • Actions that could materially harm TrustMilestone, its users, or third parties

Where appropriate, we will seek to act proportionally to the nature of the issue.

17. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee that TrustMilestone will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, infrastructure failures, third-party services, security measures, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may introduce beta, experimental, or early-access features. Such features may change or be discontinued and may be less reliable than generally available features.

18. No Guarantee of Business Outcomes

TrustMilestone helps businesses communicate proof based on available data.

We do not guarantee that using TrustMilestone will:

  • Increase sales or conversion rates
  • Improve reputation
  • Generate customers or investment
  • Establish that a business is trustworthy
  • Produce any particular commercial outcome

You remain responsible for your business decisions and for how you use and communicate TrustMilestone proof.

Third parties should make their own assessments and perform any independent verification appropriate to their decisions.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrustMilestone is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or similar losses arising from the use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of profits, business opportunities, goodwill, or data.

TrustMilestone is not responsible for losses resulting from:

  • Inaccurate or incomplete data supplied by third parties
  • Decisions made based on proof or information displayed through the Service
  • Third-party service outages or changes
  • Unauthorized or misleading use of TrustMilestone proof by a user
  • Events outside our reasonable control

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

20. Privacy

Our collection and processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

By using TrustMilestone, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed as described in that policy.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as TrustMilestone evolves or where necessary for legal, security, or operational reasons.

If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.

The updated Terms will state their effective date.

Your continued use of TrustMilestone after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms where permitted by applicable law.

22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France.

Any mandatory rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
